Bentonite

Therefore, poliovirus adsorption to bentonite in treated water at pH and ionic conditions used for virus concentration was determined. In these experiments, 50-ml samples of treated water containing 104 PFU of poliovirus per ml were adjusted to pH 5.5 and 7.5, and some samples were amended with 5 or 50 mM MgCl2, or 100 NTU of bentonite, or both. After mixing for 15 min at room temperature, samples were centrifuged at 10,000 x g for 20 min to sediment bentonite. The resulting supernatants were assayed for unabsorbed viruses. Poliovirus adsorption to bentonite was >99% in the presence of 50 mM MgCl2 at both pH levels (Table 1). In the presence of 5 mM MgC92, poliovirus adsorption to bentonite was 81 and 46% at pH 7.5 and 5.5, respectively. There was little virus adsorption to bentonite in the absence of added MgCl2. These results are generally consistent with those of Schaub and co-workers, who reported extensive enterovirus adsorption to bentonite in water amended with CaCl2 (7, 8). In the absence of bentonite, there was little loss of poliovirus infectivity after centrifugation. The 12% adsorption from control tap water at pH 7.5 and containing 50 mM MgCl2 could have been due to some virus adsorption to naturally occurring suspended solids or to the walls of the sample container.

Molecules of aluminum-magnesium silicate (AMS), a WHO-approved medicine/ stabilizing agent (adjuvant) consist of nanoparticles with negative and positive ends. The nanoparticles` ultrasmall size (0.96 nm) would enable them reach all organs/tissues to mop viruses and abnormal cells. As adjuvant, AMS improves antimicrobials-efficacies for effective treatment of secondary infections and as a silicate, it enhances immunity. Mopping viruses/abnormal cells, unmasking “hidden infections”, effectively treating secondary-infections and enhancing immunity would cure any viral/abnormal-cell disease including COVID-19, HIV/AIDS and cancers. Nigeria does not have natural AMS-deposits but we have aluminium silicate and magnesium silicate (WHO-approved medicines, too). So, we used these other solid minerals to synthesize an AMS-brand {Al4 (SiO4 ) 3 + 3Mg2 SiO4 → 2Al2 Mg3 (SiO4 )3 }. To make the un-absorbable Medicinal synthetic AMS (MSAMS) act systemically, glucose® is incorporated in its formulations, to convey the electrically charged nanoparticles across mucous membranes (active transportation) into blood for circulation to all organs/tissues.

The present invention relates to a composition comprising a mixture of trigonella foenum-graecum extract and bentonite. It has surprisingly turned out that said mixture provides for an improved anti-viral activity due to a synergistic behavior of the mixture of Trigonella foenum-graecum extract and bentonite. Thus, in a preferred embodiment, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a mixture of trigonella foenum-graecum extract and bentonite. The invention also relates to the use of the composition in a method for treatment of the human or animal body by surgery or therapy.

In order to facilitate the extraction of the active ingredients of the plant material, said plant material is soaked in a liquid, preferably water. The blend of liquid and plant material is incubated for at least 3 hours, more preferably at least 6 hours, preferably at least 12 hours, such as at least 24 hours. The incubation is usually performed at temperatures between 0 and 45°C, suitably at temperatures between 10 and 40°C. The incubation should preferably continue at least until the sprouting is visible.

Subsequently, the blend comprising the plant material soaked in a liquid is heated, preferably to a temperature above the coagulation of proteins. In a certain aspect the blend is boiled. The blend comprises plant material and a liquid. The ratio by weight of said plant material and said liquid in said blend is suitably 1 to 6. The heating may be terminated when the embryo is released from the seeds, which is associated with increased viscosity of the blend. Suitably, the heating is not continued more than 10 minutes after the embryo has been released.

The volume of a final concentrated extract originating from ½ kg of plant material such as seeds is approximately 2 litres. According to a certain aspect of the invention the weight of the mixture of Trigonella foenum-graecum extract and bentonite is at least 0.01 % by weight of the final formulation, such as at least 0.05% by weight and suitably at least 0.1 % by weight. Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds was performed as follows: 500g seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum were soaked in 2.5 I water for approximately 24 hours. Following the pre-soaking the seeds were cooked for 20 minutes and remains of the seeds were removed from the mixture. The aqueous extract produced had a dry matter content of 2-2.5 % by weight.

Production of an ointment
250mg spray dried extract produced in accordance with Example 2 was mixed with 250 mg bentonite obtained from R0dby. The combined mixture was subsequently added to 1 kg of vaseline under agitation.
